Courtney Graduates Kindergarten

Courtney just graduated from kindergarten this year! You all know that I hate to brag, but she was the smartest in her class. She scored "advanced" in most subjects this year and can read at a fourth grade reading level. She is one smart little cookie. We are so proud of her.

NYC- Day 4

Our Harbor Cruise

On the last day of our trip, we wrapped it all up by taking a harbor cruise and seeing everything that we didn't get to see. Our tour guide was amazing, telling us more than we would ever need to know about every building and the history of New York City. We saw about five bridges, including the Brooklyn Bridge, Wall Street, Ground Zero, Statue of Liberty, as well as all the famous buildings in the city. After the cruise, we went souveneir shopping for the kids and headed to the airport. I feel like I saw everything that I needed to see. My favorite part of New York was eating at Bobby Flay's restaurant. Tyson and I can't wait to bring back the kids and see even more shows and more sights. We'll wait until they can really appreciate it. I loved the city. Just standing there and looking up at the buildings and just being there was really awesome. I couldn't wait to get home though. Nowhere is as beautiful and amazing as La Jolla, California.

FAO Schwartz- Harry Potter Legos for Connor
The wedding

Me and Gabi

Sunday morning we woke up and it was a beautiful day! The sun was shining and it was the perfect day to go and see Central Park. When we got up there, there were horse and carriage rides, bicycle carriages and bike rentals. We decided to rent bikes so that we could ride them throughout the park at our leisure. Wow! It was much bigger than I expected and so wonderful to see while the rest of the city was so bustling and busy. The park was so beautiful. There was so much greenery and fountains and reservoirs. I also really love riding bikes since I don't have one of my own. After that we got some great pizza for lunch and took a walk down Fifth Avenue. We saw FAO Schwartz (every kids dream toy store) and many other stores that were out of our price range. We went home and got ready for the wedding. The wedding was at a really old but beautiful building. Inside it was just amazing. My pictures just don't do it justice. The wedding had all the Jewish customs which were lovely to see. Gabi looked beautiful. I just love weddings. They make me want to get married again and also make me realize just how much I love Tyson. The guests at the wedding were all really nice and fascinating too. Everyone had interesting stories and jobs and were all brilliant. Gabi really went out of her way to make me feel welcome there and I felt that I had a really special place in her life. The food was great but the best part was all the dancing. Tyson and I had a really good time watching people dance and we even danced ourselves! (I am NOT a good dancer and pretty self conscious). I am really glad that we made the effort to plan this trip and make it to the wedding. It was wonderful.

NYC- Day 2

I loved the Chrysler building, it was my favorite.
Who doesn't love a good cupcake?
I just loved how busy the streets were all the time

You can see the Statue of Liberty way off in the distance
Definitely a California couple
The views were incredible from the Empire State Building

The cutest little restaurant
Guys and Dolls! I loooovvvvved it!
On Day two, we woke up rather late (but only 7:30 CA time) and it was beatiful, warm and sunny. We missed breakfast so held out until lunch and had to get a hot dog from one of the hot dog stands on the corner. We walked the streets some more. Just seeing all the sights was just amazing. We went to the Empire State Building and the day and view couldn't have been more magnificent. After that, we went to Times Square to buy half price tickets for Guys and Dolls. Our seats were pretty good and you couldn't beat the price. Phantom had awesome music and the story was intense and wonderful and then Guys and Dolls was just really fun and had a lot of dancing. Tyson and I decided that one day we are going to come back to NY with the kids and see a different show every night. We just love them. We hurried back to our hotel to get ready for Gabi's dinner that she had for out of town guests. It was this cute little restaurant in this old building that was redone and very trendy and modern. The food was really good and I got to see her mom again. Her guests were all really friendly and we had a great time meeting everyone. They had a slideshow and I was really honored that there were pictures of me on it too. After dinner, we went to our show. I was blown away by the number of theatres they had and how many shows were offered. It was a great day.
