Riesenberg Summer Family Vacation 09

Our big vacation this year was spent only an hour away at a beach house in Newport Beach. Let me just tell you, I wouldn't spend it any other way. There's just something about living in a house right on the sand with an amazing ocean view and beaching it all day long. Newport Beach is so vacationy (not a word) too. I just loved running down the boardwalk and by the piers. The weather was amazing and the waves were really big. My dad and Tyson got to enjoy those but they were a little on the large side for me. We spent a half day with our friends, the Welkers, at Disneyland where it actually hit 100 degrees! But mostly, we really enjoyed the beach. We played games on the beach, boogie boarded, played football, etc. We have rented beach houses in the past and I am sure it is a tradition we will keep on doing. Especially if we move out of state next summer. I love California! Living here is like a vacation most of the time :)

Connor's 9th Birthday!

I really hate to admit that I have a nine year old because that makes me sound really old, but it's true! Connor turned 9 on August 22! It was the first day of vacation at our beach house we rented in Newport Beach! We had Grandma and Grandpa Siggard, the Honda cousins, Brandon, Sara and Xander, and even Zach and his girlfriend Lisa there. We had an ice cream cake and we surprised Connor by getting him a Wii. He was so happy he had tears in his eyes. When we got home from our vacation he had a party with his friends at Ultrazone LaserTag. I think he is pretty darn lucky!

So this is the post you've all been waiting for! If you haven't seen the demise of Jack's beautiful blond locks yet, here is the picture. I was so sad to see his curls go, and now he looks like such a big boy. Sara couldn't wait to get her hands on her scissors. Ever since his haircut, he started fighting with his brother Owen, playing with cars and trains, and saying words like"uh-oh" and "kitty". He is growing up so fast.
